The Y Teen Achievers Program is developed curriculum focused on structuring and nurturing the professional development of multi- cultural youth in grades 8- 12.
This program works hand-in-hand with community professionals, who help guide and mentor teens to make sensible decisions concerning their future.
This program not only benefits the student participants, but the community as well. Towns and cities who have implemented an Achievers program see a increased awareness of career options, thorough understanding of higher education curriculum and a renewed focus on college prep. In addition, the community labor force receives a boost in the number of motivated and informed potential employees which will help local business grow and thrive!
Teen Achievers will be introduced to successful members of our community who will share their story in order to expose teens to a variety of careers paths and professional opportunities. In addition to monthly meetings, teens will be encourage to attend field trips to area colleges. Guest speakers will also include college admissions staff, business owners, media professionals and more! This program will run from October to April.
